We recommend that all tow bars fitted to a Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards are fitted with a dedicated electrics kit, this not only helps to ensure all modern features, such as trailer stability, parking sensors function correctly, but also ensures that the vehicles manufacturer’s warranty is not invalidated.
A quick look at Mitsubishi's warranty page confirms that for the Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards, Vehicle Warranty Period New vehicles supplied in the UK by an authorised Mitsubishi Motors Dealer, and registered from 1st January 2015 have a 5 year, 62,500-mile warranty (whichever comes first). For vehicles registered prior to this date, please speak to your local dealer for details.

We do of course offer, Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards universal electrics kits, however as stated these will invalidate any manufacturer warranty you may have.
Bypass Relays
Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards will require a bypass relay if universal electrics are fitted. Bypass relays are used to ensure that the kit does not present faults on the dashboard.A bypass relay helps the universal kit hide from your vehicle ECU and functions so as not to put faults on the dashboard hence the name “BYPASS”.
A dedicated system works in harmony with your vehicles ECU and all of its functions.
Coding
This is the coding of the ECU to accept the dedicated system, this updates your vehicle's software to run smoothly with the new towbar, it works very much like an update to your smartphone. All Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards will NOT require coding if a dedicated kit is fitted.Bumper cuts
The only options on the Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards towbars are, No Cut, Visible Cut, None Visible Cut, a bumper cut is not always required.Nose weight
Nose weight is the amount of weight pushing down on the tow ball, it is important to not exceed the nose weight set on the tow bar, failure to do so could damage the car chassis and/or tow bar mounting points. For the Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards the maximum capacity nose weight is 120kg, the minimum capacity nose weight is 100kg, nose weights are displayed under each tow bar below.Towing weight
Towing weight is the weight that the Mitsubishi Outlander 2012 Onwards towbars can tow safely, without damaging the vehicle, the maximum towing weight capacity is 2000kg.
