The Land Rover Freelander is a compact SUV range that was launched in 1997. There were two generations produced within this range, before it was replaced with the Land Rover Discovery Sport in 2015. The range as a whole has created a upmarket package that appeals to a wide variety of drivers. Retaining excellent urban and off road capabilities, it is a robust model that is solidly built and carries a dominating presence in its class. One difference in this range from the early Land Rover models, is that one of its strengths is in refinement. This refinement is a result of the range of engines available for selection, both petrol and diesel. The popular 2.2 litre diesel motor delivers a smooth, strong ride that shows off said refinement. Altogether, the Land Rover Freelander is a reliable range with reasonable economy and enough space to be ideal as a family car.
