LATEST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY IN CARS

We are consistently taking strides in the advancement of technology in every element of life, and automotive technology is no exception. When you go to buy a car now there are so many additional features that have been installed for various uses, you may not understand what they all are. As with technology, the engineering of cars is also changing, such as the vehicles electrics. Every new invention or improvement made paves the way for a new era of technology. And so, with the fast paced evolution of technology keeping up to date with new features added to cars is difficult, so here are a few of the latest advancements in technology for cars.

Self driving cars

Although automated cars first emerged in the 1920’s, they have been continuously improved and reintroduced throughout the years. Yet with this being said, it is still considered to be apart of the latest advanced technology in the automotive industry, with Audi issuing some of its newer models in 2017 with automated capabilities at speeds up to 60 mph. The new technology was developed in modern cars a bid to complete the innovation of fully autonomous cars. Even though a lot of the attention has been focused on what this technology means for the future, in the present it has been said to positively impact those with vision impairments. This would mean that individuals with poor vision would have assistance when driving the road and would not have to avoid the act of driving a car. Meanwhile, in Canada worldwide company Uber has begun to use self driving cars to collect mapping data for their drivers. But the technology is not yet at the point where it can be entrusted to its own devices, as in the meantime they require extra safety measures such as having two people in the car while it is still under development. In spite of this setback, self driving features are being installed in new cars every year as a way to test these advancements in technology, the latest being Nissan ProPilot.

Keyless cars

Similarly to the self driving feature, keyless cars have been around for a few years with multiple cars available with this installation. And yet although it has been offered in a select few, not all vehicles include this technology. The Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Golf and Nissan Qashqai are the main ones designed with this piece of advanced technology. The keyless feature works by using a short-range radio transmitter that identifies your key fob when within a certain perimeter from the vehicle. When you are close to the car, it will send out a coded signal that the vehicle receives and will automatically unlock once your code has been recognised. Like with any new technology, there are constant improvements have been made to prevent certain issues such as theft. With keyless entry comes the fear of vehicles being easily accessible to car thieves and hackers. Ways to deflect this issue can be found all over the internet and with vehicle specialists, with one of these ways making sure your fob is kept well away from your vehicle and its signal perimeter when in your house so that it minimizes the chance a thief can pick up and hack the signal.

Evasive Steering Assist

The American manufacturer Ford continues to be at the forefront of vehicle safety in the industry, with the majority of its cars being fitted with features such as evasive steering assist. This is is an extra safety precaution that aids drivers in avoiding obstacles in the road as well as others vehicles if it determines a collision is imminent. Evasive steering assist was first mentioned in 2016 and was installed in vehicles soon after. This technology utilises the front and rear sensors in a way that wasn’t previously done. As well as avoiding accidents, it helps to steer around slow or stationary vehicles on road. Acting as a safety precaution for when the drivers automatic response is not quick enough to act accordingly to the situation.

As you can see, technology has been an evolutionary aspect of the automotive industry for some time. New advancements to safety features, steering and security systems are being made everyday, so much so that it is difficult to keep up with the fast paced industry. But understanding what the intention of these pieces of technology are and what it is they offer to your vehicle is just one way to know your car’s worth. And so, what is considered to be the latest advanced technology today will soon be considered past inventions, with fresh, new innovations being released into the industry on a regular basis.
