Consumer Report Magazine tests and rates hundreds of vehicles every year, both new and used. Although the magazine was largely unimpressed by the sedans on offer, it had one reluctant recommendation in the form of the redesigned Lexus ES sedan from Toyota. While testers were generally happy with the car, they still felt that the driving experience and interior fell short of the refinement present in Toyota’s previous ES.
Dodge’s 2013 Dart sedan’s main competitors are the Ford Focus and Toyota’s Corolla. While testers from Consumer Report Magazine were complimentary about the Dart’s generally solid handling, they still felt that it could have done better. The compact sedan from Dodge just failed to come top of the class.
As for Cadillac, its sedan outperformed the Lincoln, but only just. Testers at Consumer Report Magazine didn’t have much to say, apart from the fact that neither of them scored very highly, and so they weren’t able to recommend either of them. In fact, the new CUE infotainment system for the Cadillac model was labelled as frustrating and convoluted – not a good sign! The Lincoln also came under fire for its cramped and uncomfortable driving position, limited visibility and ungainly handling.
For now it would seem that sedans aren’t the most inspiring cars on the US market, so if you’re planning on buying one, you might want to shop around and do your research.
