Toyota C-HR new release

The Toyota C-HR uses the same foundations and platform as the Prius but is taller in stance and heavier in its body. The C-HR was originally conceived for the European car market, but since its launch it has been picked up by various other markets, especially in Japan. It is evident that the concept behind the design of the C-HR is to make a distinct mark with the market and this is something that has definitely happened, whether it is desirable or not is left down to each particular driver, but it is certainly unique. The vehicle is a new designed Coupe high rider with its swooping roofline which gives it character as well as practicality.

The hybrid is a smooth and economic driver which works in its favour if you were undecided on the appearance; it has a slightly shorter wheelbase and wider tracks. Despite being a Crossover the hip point is lower than average however it still allows for the driver and passenger to slide directly into their seats rather than bending down to access it. The vehicle does not lend itself well to a tall driver as the A-pillars and roofline are quite low which is something that would need to be considered before purchasing, the infotainment system in the front is an 8inch touch screen system consisting of pretty must all the basics included in any others. Depending on which model has been opted for it will offer completely different driving experiences, the lighter vehicle proves that the engine size makes a difference by performing with agility and confidence whereas the hybrid version suffers from its added weight on winding country roads.

The car’s shape is a hindrance when it comes to visibility; the heavily styled rear end makes it hard to see what is behind you when reversing and the small rear windows do not help the situation. In an attempt to combat this Toyota fitted all versions of the vehicle with a reversing camera while higher models have front and rear parking sensors which work in conjunction with its self parking system. If you are planning to use the Toyota C-HR as the new family towing car then you might be disappointed with the its maximum towing capacity, coming in at 1300kg for the most powerful model it is less than impressive, even for a compact car. It wouldn’t support many caravans that would fit the whole family in, but would be able to handle various types of trailers and hard top tents for camping or road trips. If you do decide to purchase a tow bar for this vehicle PF Jones offer a nationwide fitting service.
