The Jaguar F-Pace is the company’s first SUV vehicle and is in competition with everything from the Audi Q5 through to the Porsche Macan because of the variety of engine options and prices to suit each model. First launched in 2015 the Jaguar F-Pace quickly became a serious contender within its class, the size was very similar to sister company Land Rover’s Discovery Sport, despite some similarities between the two vehicles the F-Pace is most definitely not a re-branded Land Rover. Despite the F-Pace being available in four-wheel drive versions with clever off-road technology, it is very much a road focused SUV, with cheaper models thriving with rear wheel drive only. The 2.0 litre diesel engine is the noisiest of the range of six different engines, but it’s never too much; in contrast the V6 diesel engine doesn’t have to work so hard to deliver pace so comes across smoother and quieter.
Jaguar liken the F-Pace to a performance enhancer infused with technology and the ability borrowed from the F-Type however that is not quite strictly true; yes the suspension layout in the vehicle is the same as the F-Type, but that is essentially where the similarities end. The vehicle borrows elements from the XF and XE, but its cutting edge infotainment system sets it apart from any other vehicle to date which is completely button-less with cutting edge graphics and operates as seamlessly and effortlessly as an iPad. The F-Pace is a well built vehicle, taking all passengers into account, it is nearly two metres wide meaning three adults seated in the back would have an abundance of space and be comfortable enough for long journeys. The vehicle has 650 litres of boot space available even with its passenger capacity at full leaving a large amount of space available for loading when travelling with the whole family and towing.
At PF Jones we are at the forefront of the towbar industry and follow car releases closely to ensure we can be one of the first companies to offer tow bars on all vehicles which are homologated for towing. As mentioned, the F-Pace is largely based on the same body type as the XE and XF which means the body is mostly made out of aluminium, 80% of the body in fact. At PF Jones we offer a nationwide fitting service which can be completed from one of our depots or mobile.
